The Pink Palace Beach Resort
Rebuilding Participation at The Pink Palace
How one daily event rebuilt participation, guest momentum, and ancillary spend.
What Was Happening
The resort offered a long menu of tours and activities, but the choice fragmented guests across too many options. Groups missed minimum numbers, events were cancelled, and the social energy that made the resort work was difficult to build.
What I Changed
One Experience of the Day
I replaced the à la carte model with a single, curated Experience of the Day. Guests still had freedom over how they spent their time, but there was one clear invitation around which the group could gather. That created urgency and gave each event the critical mass it needed.
A Loop, Not a List of Events
A good day tour helped guests form friendships. Those guests then arrived together at the evening event, where the energy made it easier to sell the next day’s tour. The next tour restarted the cycle. Each experience helped fill the next one.
Making ATV Tours Safer
ATV tours needed a safer operating model. I reviewed where incidents were occurring, then changed the training, routes, group structure, and way guides managed different levels of rider confidence.
Freedom Was the Product
The resort did not really sell beds or parties. Its promise was freedom: the freedom to explore, meet people, try something unfamiliar, or simply live in the moment. The activity programme worked when it supported that promise without scripting the guest’s entire day.
Social Staff
I created the Social Staff role to combine guest connection with media creation. The team joined tours and events, helped people enter the social experience, and captured real material for the resort’s marketing rather than staging it separately.
Building the Departments Around It
I created dedicated activities and marketing departments so the programme, guides, sales, guest communication, and content no longer depended on informal handoffs.
What Changed
- Tours and events reached record participation and guest spend
- The day-tour, night-event, next-day-sales loop gave the programme its own momentum
- ATV tours operated with a safer structure for training, routes, groups, and guides
- The activities and marketing departments gave the work clear ownership
